No, I live in one of those areas. Admittedly it is confusing, the village I live in is within the county boundaries of Lancashire but the postcode is L for Liverpool. It isn’t a part of Liverpool City Region.

Postcodes are nothing to do with County Boundaries, they are merely an indicator to the Post Office of the main sorting office for the mail to be sent to PR indicates Preston, the 8 or 9 indicates to the Preston office that should be forwarded to Southport and the remainder indicates the round and street.

Read my comment again.
The only literature that came with the polling card was about Photo ID being required and how to acquire it if necessary.
I don't make it up as I go along....

Further to my comment above, a booklet about the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Mayoral Election and candidates' views has just been delivered in the post (April 26th) from Electoral Services in Bootle.
The envelope states the body is required by law to send the booklet.
Although welcome, part of the information refers to Photo ID being required (again see comment above), but as applications for a Voter Authority Certificate closed two days ago (April 24th) it's of no value to those who might still be requiring one.....
Still no official information re Police and Crime Commissioners.

So how come all of the "old" Southport Lancashire STD phone number codes are still kept as 01704 ******,as against Merseyside,Liverpool areas having the 0151 *** **** numbers ? And I always put Lancashire on ANY address in the Southport area,as I was Lancashire born and bred.....The area may have been changed to Sefton in 1973,but they don't exist in my book,as I have'nt moved out of Lancashire...

Southport hasn't changed but there again neither has Birkenhead which is 0151 and was in Cheshire

I note the Green candidate, Tom Crone, received more votes than the LibDem Mr McAllister-Bell and not far behind the Conservative, Ms. Marsden. Bravo!
